Radio has great sound and reception – it’s fun to have music in the morning – wakes you up!

I bought this radio about a week ago and it works great. Normally I have trouble getting decent radio reception in the dorms but this radio works great in the dorm showers.

As the Blue Conair SR11 shower radio is identical to the green SR12 (obviously except for color), I am replicating my review for the green SR12 – it works & performs exactly the same!

I don’t know if there is a quality control problem with this radio what with the mixed reviews, but I’ve had nothing but good luck with this device since my purchase in March 2010.

The radio tunes to ALL of our local stations beautifully & the sound is actually quite good for such a small & inexpensive radio. The push button on/off feature as well as the curved tuner & volume knobs are great for use with damp hands. The ease of use & the sound quality make the Conair SR11 better than any of the 3 shower radios I’ve had, one of which cost 3x as much.

The price for the orange SR14 just dropped back down & was available again through Amazon, so I’ve just purchased that as my third model in May 2010. I’ll confirm whether the details match the others once I’ve powered it up.

I like this little radio a lot. It’s not perfect, but I give it 5 stars for what it does for $9.99. My favorite station comes in loud and clear while I shower.
The first time I turned it on I was in a vehicle. I couldn’t wait to try it at home so I tried it out on the way there after picking it up from the post office. Big disappointment! The radio wouldn’t stay on a station, too much static, and I thought I should have paid attention to the negative reviews. I was ready to send it back right then. To my surprise when I got home and hung it over the shower head pipe it worked great.
Tuning it can be a challenge because the knob is small and so is the band range (lots of tiny back-and-forth knob-turning); it’s not digital, but once it’s been tuned to a station it stays on it (until someone else fiddles with it). We use the radio a couple or more times daily and still, after over 3 months the original batteries are going strong (it takes 4 AAA, not included — I use Duracell). The volume control knob has 8 dots around it, but positioning the knob just above the 3rd dot is plenty loud in our small shower.
You may need to secure it with yarn or nylon string so it doesn’t slide down the shower head pipe when pushing the power button.

Why waste time in the shower when you could be getting your daily news? This unit has worked perfectly – can’t speak about overall reception, as I stick to one station (which comes in clear without any static). If you don’t have a shower radio, you should really purchase this unit. It’s small, easy to hang or lay on a shelf, has easy to use controls, and good sound. Plus, at the price, it’s an inexpensive way to get your news.

This radio was just what I was looking for. I love the easy on-off button, the volume controls and the radio stations come in clear and do not fade in and out like my last one, and you cant bet the price!

past radios have died real fast…water somehow gets in, but these guys have protected the batteries really well

This product is great, has clear sound. Works good, I’ve had it for 5 months now and it has no problems. Works as advertised.

I was looking for a small radio that I could use in the shower and this radio fit the bill. I have been using it for several weeks and have had no problems. The stations are clear and sound fine. I would recommend this shower radio to others.

I’ve only had this radio for a few days, but so far it looks really good. The sound quality is very good, especially for a $10 radio. You will not have any problems hearing this radio in the shower. Half volume is more than enough and full volume is ridiculously loud. The dials are nice and big and easy to turn. The tuner is very sensitive and it’s easy to find the station you want. The push button power switch is also a nice touch. The only drawback is that it takes 4 AAA batteries. I would definitely buy this radio again.

Update July 1st, 2009:
Just changed the batteries after about three months and the radio still works very well.
